Not All Great Tools Are Paid.
CreatorKrafts turns long-form video into meaningful short-form clips. Claude does the thinking — reading your transcript, watching the moments that matter — while CreatorKrafts renders everything locally, on your own machine.

One continuous handoff, not six disconnected tools
From a long video to a finished clip, the work moves in one direction: Claude reasons about the content, CreatorKrafts executes it locally.
You point CreatorKrafts at a video
A long interview, podcast, or talk — selected once from your own computer. Nothing uploads anywhere.

The transcript becomes available
CreatorKrafts transcribes locally, word by word, so Claude has real text to reason about — not a guess.

Claude inspects the moments
Through MCP, Claude reads the transcript, checks who's speaking, and can look at real video frames when it needs to.

Inspecting frames around 04:18…
A meaningful moment gets chosen
Claude decides where a clip should start and end — a complete thought, not an arbitrary 30-second window.
Clip boundaries
04:18 – 04:49 · complete thought, strong hook
CreatorKrafts frames and subtitles it
9:16 reframing, word-level subtitles, and any on-screen text are applied locally, based on what Claude specified.

Your clip renders, right on your machine
FFmpeg does the work on your own hardware. The finished file lands in your output folder — no cloud render queue.

Local render
CreatorKrafts doesn't pretend a local script understands humor.
Claude does the thinking. CreatorKrafts does the work. Two clearly separated jobs, connected over MCP.
Editorial intelligence
Claude
- Reads the full transcript and understands context
- Evaluates which moments are actually worth clipping
- Can inspect real video frames when text alone isn't enough
- Chooses clip boundaries that form a complete thought
Local execution
CreatorKrafts
- Extracts and processes the video on your machine
- Renders each clip with FFmpeg, locally
- Generates word-level subtitles and reframes to 9:16
- Writes finished files straight to your output folder
“Claude decides what matters. CreatorKrafts makes it real.”
Your video doesn't need to become a cloud processing bill.
The heavy work — transcription, framing, subtitle rendering, final export — happens on the desktop app, using your own CPU and GPU. There's no upload step for the video itself and no server-side render queue to wait behind.
That's also just a more honest way to keep this free: we're not paying to process your video, so you don't have to either.
To be precise: connecting a CreatorKrafts account, checking credits, and Claude Desktop's own MCP connection do involve normal network requests. Local processing means your video and its rendering stay on your machine — not a blanket claim that the app never talks to the network.
Built, working, and running today
Every capability below is implemented in the current desktop app — nothing on this list is a roadmap promise.
AI-assisted clip selection
Claude reads the transcript and decides which moments are actually worth turning into a clip.
Transcript-aware editing
Every boundary and subtitle is grounded in real words and timestamps, not a guess.
Speaker & scene context
CreatorKrafts tracks who is speaking and where scenes change, and hands that context to Claude.
Visual frame inspection
When text alone isn't enough, Claude can look at real extracted frames from your video.
Smart clip boundaries
Cuts land on complete thoughts — never mid-sentence, never missing the payoff.
Multiple aspect ratios
Export 9:16, 1:1, 16:9, or 4:5 — reframed for the platform you're posting to.
Word-level subtitles
Karaoke-style timing with emphasis, driven by the same transcript Claude reads.
Text overlays
Add on-screen text that CreatorKrafts renders directly into the finished clip.
Incremental local rendering
Clips finish one at a time on your own hardware — use the first before the rest are done.
Credit-aware generation
See the real cost before you generate — never a surprise after the fact.
Claude Desktop integration
Connected over MCP — Claude calls CreatorKrafts directly, no separate app to learn.
Subtitles that actually hold attention.
Word-level timing comes straight from the same transcript Claude reads, so captions land exactly when each word is spoken — with the emphasized word highlighted as it's said.
Clean typography, readable positioning, and a small set of deliberately chosen presets — not fifty toggles you'll never use.
You shouldn't wait for clip five to use clip one.
When you generate a batch of clips, each one is written to your output folder the moment it finishes rendering — not after the whole batch completes.
“The first finished clip is usable while the rest are still rendering.”
